The Victoria BMD records show that a Lucy BLACKMAN gave birth to a Johnston BLACKMAN (Vic BMD 9106/1880) in1880 in Geelong. There is no father registered but Vivian Bugden suggests an 'unknown Johnston'. Johnston has no obvious death record.

Lucy married John Alfred SPOONER in 1908 (Vic BMD 692/1908). There is no John Alfred SPOONER in the Victoria birth records but aJohn Alfred SPOONER was born in Marylebone, London in the first quarter of 1849 (GRO Ref: Marylebone  vol.1 page 173) There is no obvious passenger list for John Alfred SPOONER.

The Victoria Rate Book for 1894 records:

The Australian Electoral Roll 1903-1977, available on Ancestry, records their homes and occupations. In 1905, though married they were not recorded in the same dwelling:

There is no obvious record of a child between 1908 and 1930. There is no obvious record of John Alfred's death in either the Victoria, New South Wales or South Australia death records between 1919 and 1940. Nor is their an obvious burial in Billion Graves or Melbourne Cemeteries.
