Despite Hilda being a Methodist she married Francis, on 11 February 1914, in St
Patrick's RC Church, Stawell. He was an engine driver in 1909 but in 1924 had
become Running Gear Repairer with a department No 14949.

Hilda was born in Stawell in.1890 as Charlotte Hilda. (Vic BMD 36733/1890).
Charlotte Hilda married Francis Archibald ROGERS in 1914 (Vic BMD 1614/1914)
. Francis was born in 1879 in Sandhurst (Vic BMD 5256/1879). He died in
1946 aged 67 still in Stawell (Vic BMD 19422/1946). Hilda died on 15 February
1968 (Vic BMD 3946/1968) as Hilda Charlotte in Stawell Hospital aged 76.

Their child - Iris Mary
Between 1943 and 1945, during World War II, Iris a supply assistant at the HMAS
Lonsdale naval base at Beech Street Port Melbourne. After the war she was employed by
the Forests Commission.

The Australian Electoral Roll 1903-1977, available on Ancestry, records Iris living at her mother's home at 72 Wakeman Street, Stawell in 1949 on 'home duties'. In the same year she is recorded as a farm assistant at Brim, Hopetoun. From 1954 through to 1963 she is at home with her mother again at 72 Wakeman Street, until her mother's death, and again on 'home duties'. From 1968 to 1980 Iris is alone:
